To All My Book Buying Friends
For those of you who have received copies of my book, please take the time to write a review on Amazon or Barnes & Noble's web site. That way, you get published, I get reviewed, and we all contribute a little bit to the digital clutter.
If you didn’t like the book, please ignore this post.
[UPDATE: Thanks. You guys are the best. For those of you who have yet to review the book and would like to be included among "guys who are the best," I think you know what to do.]

although I don't have the book yet, I gave it 5 stars anyway
which means it better be good

Consider it bumped to the top of my 'to do' list.

I've done my review, it's being processed.
I just popped back to remind everyone reviewing to tag it with 'David Sedaris', that way when people click on the 'David Sedaris' tag, Michael's book will show up.
Sneaky, no?

So once again, let's all rub this in, shall we? Those who did NOT pre-order the book cannot play this game. Those who had the foresight TO pre-order the book, can. Sayeth the Author.
I'm playing anyway. Sayeth the Bitch.

Done.
Posted by: Zane | July 10, 2008 at 01:18 PM
but is the book dedicated to marcus?
Posted by: R_Bishop | July 10, 2008 at 01:20 PM
Your book arrived today when I was home for lunch. Special delivery indeed! I brought it to work with me - it's sitting right here on my desk - so that my co-workers would envy me, and so they could get a whiff of that "new book" smell (and your literary genius).
My glowing review will be forthcoming.

R Bishop - the book is not dedicated to Marcus. It's dedicated to his mother, Jill (all together now: "Awwwwwwwwww, so sweet!")
Posted by: Susanna | July 10, 2008 at 01:43 PM
That is very sweet, Susanna.
Only 3 reviews so far, let's get going Noodleheads!

I'm thinking about making up lies about how it cures horrible diseases and such. Nobody wants a book because, frankly, reading is too much work...but a cure for an incureable (which would then become cureable) disease?

I shall review when I get the book. In the meantime I'm voting for you on dlisted,if that's any consolation. I'm guessing it's not.

Well, I just went on Amazon and reviewed Sedaris' book and titled it "Sedaris isn't as funny as Michael Ian Black's new book My Custom Van" or something like that. Hopefully that might send some of his readers your way. :-)

But I'm staying away from the Slut.com thing. Sorry. But good luck with that too, I guess.

Tooth brush you've come back to me!

Done and done.
Posted by: ChloeJ82 | July 10, 2008 at 10:07 PM
I absofuckinglutely just posted my review.
Posted by: Susanna | July 11, 2008 at 01:51 AM
wow, one of two people found my nearly incoherent ramblings and admittance that I haven't read most of the book helpful. Awesome.
Posted by: Saul | July 11, 2008 at 05:43 AM
I just re-posted my review on amazon.co.uk. I had erroneously assumed that because my ID works on both amazon.com and amazon.co.uk, that the review would somehow link through to the English site as well. It doesn't.
There's only 1 copy left on the UK amazon site! It's number 76 in the humour bestsellers over here, which is pretty good, considering no-one else in England knows who you are.

Good morning.
CC has released the first 10 minutes of Reality Bites Back...it looks really funny. It will be so nice to watch you on tv again. You do "big face" right. (I'm probably the only one who understands me)

Saul, I think I found you helpful. Wouldn't it be nice if we all "found each other helpful"? We could be like the Amish.
Posted by: Reen | July 11, 2008 at 10:01 AM
Maybe we can all read excerpts by candlelight after evening chores?
Posted by: Camille | July 11, 2008 at 10:12 AM
I'm with Reen, a little mutual appreciation of each other's reviews would help the cause, I found everyone's reviews helpful, and will continue to do so as more are added...
And Michael, please hike that fine ass of yours back to amazon, and click on those 'yes' buttons yourself, (if you haven't already).

If you'll pardon the vernacular:
HOLY FUCK! "CHICKEN CHEEKS" IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER!!
http://www.amazon.com/Chicken-Cheeks-Michael-Ian-Black/dp/1416948643/ref=cm_cr_pr_sims_i
Time to start pimping that one, even if it has no release date yet. Are you gonna feud with Dr Seuss on this one?!?
